1. What services do you offer?

We specialize in organizing customized bespoke tours, corporate / gala events, private parties, destination experiences, and cultural excursions. Whether it's a group tour, wedding, retreat, or conference, we manage everything from logistics to entertainment.

2. How do I book a tour or event with you?

You can book directly through our website, by phone, or by emailing us at enquiries@ustae.co.uk. Once we receive your enquiry, we’ll schedule a consultation over Zoom / Microsoft Teams to plan the perfect experience. You can see what events are available through our events page.

3. Do you offer bespoke packages?

Yes! We can customize things to suit your preferences, budget, and group size. We love creating unique experiences tailored to each client.

4. What is your cancellation and refund policy?

We will only cancel tours where circumstances are beyond the companies control, or which might jeopardise your safety. In the event we cancel your tour we will notify you as soon as possible and you will be refunded in full.

One Day Tours
  • If you cancel your reservation/tour 48 hours or more prior to departure – you will be refunded 90% of the tour price.

  • Cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to departure – no refund will be due.

Private Tours

Private tours are created to your requirements.

Upon receipt of your private tour request, you will receive a quote based on the information you have given us. The price quoted is based on the size of your group and other factors. In the event the group size increases, the price quoted may be amended to reflect the increase in the group size.

On Booking a private tour, a 25% non-refundable deposit is due payable with any outstanding balance due 60 days prior to the tour departure date.

Where a private tour booking is made within 60 days of travel, full payment is reuqired at the time of booking.

Private Tour Cancellations
  • Cancellation must be confirmed by email, phone or in writing.

  • If you cancel your booking more than 30 days prior to your tour departure you will be refunded 50% of the price.

  • Cancel less than 30 days but more than 14 days prior to your tour departure you will be refunded 25% of the price.

  • Cancellations less than 14 days, no refund will be given.

5. Are your events and tours suitable for children and elderly guests?

For events, absolutely! We cater to guests of all ages and can adjust activities and amenities to ensure comfort and enjoyment for everyone in your group. Sadly, children under the age 5 are unable to travel on our day tours.

6. Do you handle permits and venue bookings?

Yes, we take care of all logistics including permits, licenses, and venue reservations, so you can enjoy a stress-free experience.

7. Can you accommodate dietary restrictions or special requests?

Yes, we work closely with catering teams and venues to ensure all dietary needs and preferences are respected.

8. What safety measures do you have in place?

We follow all local safety guidelines and partner with trusted vendors to ensure the well-being of all guests. Emergency protocols are also discussed during event planning.

9. How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking well in advance for events and for tours, especially during peak seasons and the possibility of being sold out.

12. Do you offer multilingual guides or services?

All our guides speak English, we can provide multilingual guides and staff upon request to ensure an inclusive and enjoyable experience for international guests.

13. What happens in case of bad weather?

Weather in Scotland can be unpredictable. If weather was to affect your event, we would discuss further about the options available I.E reschedule. Public safety is our priority and this also applies to our day tours.

14. Can we preview venues or tour locations before booking?

Absolutely! We can arrange virtual tours or in-person site visits based on availability and your location.

15. Do you offer travel insurance or recommend providers?

While we do not sell travel insurance, we highly recommend that you always take out travel insurance for peace of mind.

16. Are there any hidden fees?

Transparency is important to us. All costs will be clearly outlined in your proposal and contract or our ticket merchants.

17. Do you assist with international travel arrangements?

We can assist you and make recommendations from our end

18. Can you provide references or testimonials?

Yes, we’re happy to share testimonials and connect you with past clients who can speak highly of our service and expertise.

19. What payment methods do you accept?

We accept various payment methods including credit/debit cards, bank transfers, and select digital wallets. Payment details will be shared during the booking process.

20. Are pets allowed on tours or at events?

Depending on the location and nature of the event, we may be able to accommodate pets. Please mention this during your consultation but isn't always a guarantee.

21. Can you provide on-site coordinators during events?

Yes, we be on-site to manage the event flow, troubleshoot, and ensure everything goes according to plan.

22. What time do the coach day tours usually start and end?

Most day tours depart in the morning, typically between 8:00 AM and 9:30 AM, and return 8 to 12 hours later depending on your chosen tour. Exact times will be confirmed upon booking. However we can not predict for traffic jams, diversions etc. So please bear this in mind.

23. Where is the pick-up and drop-off location?

We offer convenient pick-up and drop-off points near Edinburgh City Centre and Dunfermline City Centre.

24. Are meals included in the coach day tours?

No, at certain stops during your tour you can purchase food and drink. Inclusions will be detailed in the tour description.

25. Is there a tour guide on the coach?

Yes, all coach day tours include a professional tour guide who provides commentary, historical context, and assists with any guest needs throughout the trip.

26. How comfortable are the coaches?

The coaches we use or hire are modern, air-conditioned, and equipped with comfortable seating. Some may include onboard Wi-Fi, restrooms, or entertainment systems but is not always a guarantee.

27. Can I bring luggage or large bags on the coach tour?

We recommend bringing only a small day bag or backpack. Storage is limited, but we can accommodate larger items with advance notice.

28. Are there rest stops during the tour?

Yes, we include scheduled rest stops for comfort breaks, meals, and photo opportunities at key attractions along the route.

29. Is the coach accessible for guests with mobility issues?

We can provide accessible vehicles with advance notice. Please let us know about any mobility needs when booking so we can make necessary arrangements.

30. What should I bring on a sightseeing day tour?

We suggest bringing a water bottle, sun protection (hat/sunscreen), comfortable shoes, a camera, and weather-appropriate clothing. We’ll provide a checklist upon confirmation.

31. How large are the tour groups on coach trips?

Group sizes vary depending on the tour, but we aim to keep groups small enough to ensure a personalized and enjoyable experience. Private coach tours are also available. Coaches can seat up to 53 people. Luxury Coach is up to 30 people max.

32. What happens if I'm late?

We always advise to arrive early before your departure. Sadly, we can not wait on anyone. Please be ready in good time to depart.
